Campbell's Ferry would not remain today as one of Idaho's special historic and cultural treasures without the support of key persons and volunteers. The Crowe Family bought the property in 1958 and later established today's conservation underpinnings with an agreement with The Trust for Public Lands. Bob Abbott, then Slate Creek District Ranger, worked with Donna McBain, John Barnes and the Conservation Buyers to form a partnership to preserve the property for current and future generations. The owners believe these champions deserve the name "Pioneers."
A day of visiting at "The Ferry" begins with wonder and awe of the magnificent surroundings, but soon evolves into hard work by hardy volunteers. Below is a partial list of those who have helped the owners protect and preserve the natural, scenic, open-space, fish and wildlife, historical and cultural values of Campbell's Ferry.
